November is coming to an end soon

The leaves have just about all fallen out of the trees, but I like this picture anyway. It's a Thomas Kinkade. My hubby and I collect his paintings. We have 12 of them throughout our house. We started buying them back in the early 90s and I don't think we've purchased one since the late 90s. We have no more wall space in our little house. We both love his work. I am cleaning house and doing laundry. I got in a really good workout today at the gym. I had my leftovers from dinner out last night for my lunch and I am taking a break right now. It's a sunny and cool day outside. Possibility of rain later I think. No clue what I am going to fix for dinner today. Maybe some leftover pork tenderloin from Thursday night. It turned out really good. Well, I just heard the dryer turn off so I best go fold some clothes. Have a good weekend all.

Friday

Not too much happening here today. We are meeting some friends for dinner at Sizzler tonight. Not exactly a gourmet restaurant but we like it. I haven't been there much since my LB surgery. Last time I ordered a dinner with salad bar and just asked for the dinner to be put in a to go box as soon as it arrived. I ate my salad bar fixings and was happy with that. The next day I ate my dinner that I brought home. I did get in my workout today. We are still waiting to hear the results on the blood tests hubby had done the other day. Amazingly enough he has had very high blood pressure since we bought our own little monitior last year. Since he went to the doctor the other day, his pressure has been normal. I mean like 118/74 up to about 120/80. Not higher than that. I thought for sure the doctor would have to prescribe something to lower high pressure. I am wanting to put away my Thanksgiving decorations since we are having dinner at friends' house and start to decorate for Christmas after reading all the blogs I read with some of the beautiful decorations some of my fellow bloggers are doing. I haven't put any out in the last few years because we didn't have any festivities here. I love putting a tree up and all my many collectables so this year I think I will drag them out and put them up. I'll take some pictures if I do.

Doctor's visit results

Well the doctors appointment went well. I went in with my hubby and planned to tell the doctor about all of my concerns. But before I could start telling him how tired and lethargic he had gotten over the last year or so he told him himself. I was so relieved that he told him. I expressed my concern about diabetes and he said he would have bloodwork done to check all the possible causes of exhaustion. He has arthritis and has terrible pain in his feet, knees and back. He also mentioned that hubby should be doing some form of exercise. I am hoping he will decide to go to the gym with me before long. This morning he went to the lab for his bloodwork and hopefully things will turn around for him shortly. Now I am trying to come up with something easy and quick for dinner. I just took a pork tenderloin out of the freezer but I don't know if it will thaw out in time. I may have to nuke it. Anyone know an easy pork tenderloin recipe? Well, I guess I will check out my numerous cook books.

Doctor's Visit

Today I made an appointment for my hubby to have a physical. He is one of those guys who never goes to the doctor. I finally asked him a couple of weeks ago if he would go if I made the appointment. He agreed so today is the day. He hasn't had a physical in over 5 years and that was only because he was very ill with blood clots in both lungs. He hasn't felt well for some time and I suspect he may have diabetes since he is tired all the time. I am very worried so I hope the doctor can stress that he needs to take better care of himself. I pray it isn't anything major and if it is diabetes it is treatable with diet and exercise. We shall see.

For a Deployed Soldier

Here is a website that will send a card to a deployed soldier for you. You only have to fill in the blanks.

https://www.uso.org/donate/custom.aspx?id=1082&

I hope we can all take a moment out of our days in the follow weeks and send one of our dedicated soldiers a card.

Thank you

Great Idea

When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get. A Great Idea!!! When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following:

A Recovering American Soldier

c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center

6900 Georgia Avenue,NW

Washington , D.C. 20307-5001

If you approve, please pass it on.
I got this in an email today and I thought it was worthy of placing here on this blog. I already sent it to all the people in my address book and I thought maybe those of you seeing it here can do the same. I will look for an address to send cards to soldiers over seas in one of the combat zones also and post that next.
