Rough night

Last night I had a problem with my LapBand. I had a really stuck feeling and after 3 days of being very tight I ended up vomiting which in the LapBand world is a big NO NO. After that my esophagus swelled up and I felt like I was being strangled. Things went from bad to worse. I didn't know what to do because I am far from my surgeon's office and I have no idea where a hospital is in this region. I stayed in the recliner all night and every time I dozed off I had reflux coming into my mouth. It wasn't a fun night. I also had that sensation of saliva pouring into my mouth like you get when you are about to Yack and I couldn't swallow it. Things were so swollen that I had to just keep spitting in a cup. Finally, at about 4am I noticed I wasn't salivating anymore so I took an acid reducer and was able to snooze for about 2 hours. Today I decided to go on liquids only for a while and see if that helped and I called the doctor. His nurse agreed on the liquids and said to stay away from anything acidic. I also agreed to call her Monday and let her know how I am doing. She thinks it was an irritated esophagus rather than a slipped band but time will tell. I will call the office and make an appointment as soon as I get home. What an ordeal. Needless to say I didn't go with everyone today on their adventure. I rained last night for about 5 hours and the sun is out today. But more rain is due tonight, boo hoo. We may head back towards home tomorrow. The tree was just an interesting looking tree we saw yesterday.

Aww honey, I'm sorry that you're having a hard time with it.
I hope the Dr can get to the bottom of it, but in the meantime, just stick to liquids and take care of yourself.
*hugs*

I sure hope you feel better soon. I know it has to seem bad when you are away on vacation and not near your own doctor. Have a happy Valentine's Day and a great weekend.

I do hope your are feeling better. It's no fun at all being sick especially when on vacation. I hope you get to enjoy what time you have left before heading home.

OOOH my! This is not a good thing to have happen to you while you are away having a well-deserved break from everyday life! I am so sorry! I'll keep my fingers (and toes) crossed that you can solve it with some band TLC.
BTW...I'm having a few issues with my Lapband as well. After my last fill....I swear that it feels "looser" than before. I have been able to eat soooo much more. I had a new tech (being trained!). Do you think she took it out instead of put it in????? Oh my!
I'll be thinking of you! I hope you can enjoy the rest of your trip!
