Old friends............

Okay, I bought a webcam 6 or 7 months ago with the intention of being able to talk to my brothers (3 of them) who all live in different states. I sent them all emails and explained to them how cool it would be to be able to talk face to face and even all of us together on a regular basis. I also thought I could keep up with my grandkids this way too since they all live far from me. Up until yesterday, I had never used this gadget. One of my oldest and dearest friends had back surgery this past week and I called her to see how she was doing. During the conversation she mentioned webcams and when she found out I had one she called me on it. We sat face to face and laughed and chatted and it was so awesome. We haven't seen each other in 3 years and now we visited online, free, face to face. My hubby walked into the room while we were talking and she saw him and spoke to him and he was blown away. Now he is hooked too. He went out and bought his own webcam for his laptop. Now, all I have to do is convince my brothers that it's worth the $20 or so to be able to see my lovely face on a regular basis and share a little bit of our lives instead of just on email or an occasional phone call.

What a great idea! My old laptop had one built in, but ds bought it from me and without thinking the laptop I bought, doesn't have one. It would be fun to talk w/ blogging buds too... LOL ;-)

Take care and have a good day...

Don't you just love it ?!
I use mine to talk to my son and occasionally get to read a bedtime story to my grandsons! With the time difference, my grandson's are getting ready for bed just as I do an afternoon story for my daycare kids... and even the kids have now become friends!
My grandson will say "Ella, (daycare child) you better go to the toilet now, before my Grummie gets started on our book!"

I LOVE it!

I bought a webcam when I first got my computer and used it all the time. I don't have it hooked up anymore. I don't even remember why I took it down. They are a lot of fun though. Have a good evening.

Well that is cool about the webcam. Was it easy to hook up?
Glad you are enjoying it.

WOW! My kids use "Skype"....not sure what that is. But, they both told me to get myself a webcam so we can do it. Especially since my daughter will be at college next year. I definitely have to do this! It might help with my empty next issues...
I have to look into it!
Maybe we blogger friends can start showing off our new bods via our Webcams! Now, there's a thought!

As I have mentioned several times on my blog, I just think this is a marvelous invention. Old friends are getting together and laughing and talking about old times. Life is good.
