Making up for bad decisions.............

Well, I really blew it yesterday. I have been so good about not eating candy the last couple of weeks. I put it all away and it hasn't been tempting me. However, for dinner last night we went to Sizzler. I had the salad bar and I usually bring my dinner home. I can only eat one or the other. But for some reason, I was able to eat the baked potato. I also ate one of the grilled shrimp skewers which had 5 shrimp on it. So I ate a big salad, 5 little shrimps and a baked potato. Then I got a little bowl of their ice cream and put some caramel sauce on it. I couldn't believe I could eat that much. Well, I didn't feel too badly since the only other food I had eaten was a Lean Cuisine meal at lunchtime. And I had done 2 hours at the gym yesterday. One hour of yoga, 1/2 hour of cardio and 1/2 hour of strength training. So why is it that I felt the need to eat another bowl of ice cream at home last night?? It only had one scoop but goodness me, I don't know what came over me. I guess I had a mini binge. I guess it surprised me since everything went down so easily. That hardly ever happens. I usually get a little reminder to slow down or to stop, but not last night. I must have been chewing well or taking in very small bites. Well, today at the gym I guess I need to work a little harder to counteract the calories I took in last night.

Every now and then a binge is good. Glad you felt ok even though you ate well. You'll be burning off those extra calories in no time. Hope your weekend is a great one

I know, it is so hard to be good when it comes to eating. My biggest problem is eating quickly and portion control. Sure wish it was easier. Keep plugging away.

I'll I'm thinkin' is "yummmmm....salad bar, baked potato...mmmm." It's dinner time and what I'm makin' better hurry up.

You're aware and you'll take care of yourself. :) Good for you for posting and keeping yourself honest. THAT's the tough part.

Hi Kathy!

I am glad to say to you "way to go!!". It does NOT sound bad to me at all. Your gym time was amazing. A little ice cream and caramel sauce will not undo all the GREAT things you have accomplished!! As Judi says...Onward!!

Hi Kathy, I read in a magazine recently that it is OK to cheat 20%of the time (1 out of every 5 meals). So if you goof at one meal, just try to be good for the next four. It is worse to fret over it . . . as we all tend to continue to make "mistakes" that way. You sound like you are good more than 80% of the time :)

Kathy....
Actually, in comparison to what you probably could have consumed prior to Lapband....your meal was very conservative! And, what's life without a little ice cream and carmel sauce (oh, my fav!)????
Your gym regimen is super impressive!
Yesterday is behind you....forget about it!!! Yes, Onward!

You deserve a good meal every now and again. It will not hurt that much with all the exercise you are getting.
How do you like the gym?

We all have those kind of days. I find myself sometimes "pushing" the band to see how much it can take and then I am like, "I can't believe I can eat that much". Just take it one meal at a time. You are doing great :)

Ahhh, honey one little binge won't hurt you and you KNOW what you did was unusual, so I wouldn't fret.
And that work-out? Amazing! Good for you!
You're doing good, and everyone needs a little splurge now and then...;-)
