Not good news......

Well, I went for my Upper GI and was very disappointed. The doctor said, "there has been no change" What???? No change??? He said there had been no improvement in the last 3 months. He told me I had two options: to wait another 3 months (which would mean 10 months of waiting)or have my band removed. I am so bummed!! I just stood there stunned. He asked me if I wasfrom out of town and when I told him I was from Roseburg he said he is opening a new clinic in Roseburg starting this month on the 24th. He told me to call his office and schedule an appointment for the 24th and we would discuss it then. I did just that, but I am worried about what will happen now. Please think good thoughts for me or prayers are so appreciated. I feel like two of the three years I have had my band have been stuck in a holding pattern over this problem.

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry!!! I was really hoping that it would be good news for you...I know how much you wanted it to be.

Walt and I have been talking, since several of us Bandster's have been having problems. And we decided that IF I have problems in the future, where I had to have my Band removed, then I would go in for the Gastric Sleeve.

I hate to ask this, but have you considered it? At least it isn't as extreme as the RNY, but would still be good for weight loss, and maintaining it. Just a thought.

Keep us posted on what is decided at your next office visit. And again, I am so sorry that it turned out like this, I know you must be crushed.

OHHHHHHHH Kathy!
I am so sad for you. So so sad. I hate to think of you being so disappointed and scared. This band was a major decision and a life changer--I know that! But, I know deep down in my heart that all the things happen for a reason and that in the end...it will be good. Sometimes we have to walk through the fire. Yuk. Yuk. Yuk. Life is a damn mystery---isn' it? But, even though it might not always feel like it-- good things happen to good people....and you are one of them! Your band brought you this far (and connected you and I)---all good things! It's given you a new resolve to be fit and healthy.
I will keep my fingers crossed, say a few extra prayers and send good vibes your way. Hey...maybe 3 weeks will be the key!
Onward!
Judi

What ever way you have to go, don't feel bad about it all. You really have done so well and lost a great amount of weight. You have developed good eating habits and exercise too so I think you've done wonderfully.

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry to hear this. I know you have thought about the sleeve and I know we haven't "followed" each other for long but I know you are definitely doing some thinking on the sleeve. I could go on and on and on for good things about the sleeve, but really I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you are in this difficult position and that I hope everything will end okay for you. You can email me through my blog at any time. Sending you hugs!

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry to hear this! I was so hoping you' get the green light! I am thinking about revision to the sleeve if my band acts up again. I go for another fill on the 16th and I am going to talk to my surgeon a little more about it.

I also agree whole-heartedly with Judi...."all things happen for a reason" and when one door closes another one opens. I know they are cliches' but I really believe this.

How frustrating for you Kathy. I've read the other comments and I completely agree with Judi. Sometimes we have to walk through fire and have faith that it will all work out in the end. You've gone this far and have a lot of friends on your side.

Hang in there and keep going to the gym. I was proud of you when you went on to exercise after your fender bender. Exercise is as good for the brain as it is for the body. We're with ya. Hope you had a wonderful mothers day.
