I have been lurking off and on reading your posts. My hubby and I have been at the coast and fishing for salmon. He did something to his back the day before we left for here and so he's been in a great deal of pain and only just started going fishing the last week or so. Nothing caught yet. Two of our friends came yesterday and went fishing with him and one of them caught a 28 pound salmon. Darn!! Poor Bob, he just doesn't have any luck with salmon. In 8 years of trying he's only caught 2 of them. We are with 2 couples and they've each caught several already. I haven't been out fishing with him this time because Chloe (our pup) had an episode of being sick when we first got here and I had to have her vet fax over a prescription of her pain meds to the vet here. I've been trying not to leave her alone for very long if I can help it.
Isn't this a pretty picture for Fall? I found it several years ago I think online at a magazine website. Well, I have a date for my surgery scheduled. It is on the 17th of October. I am trying to keep a postive outlook and it's helping me to accept it. Also I am thinking that God has a plan for me and this is just a part of it. I hope all my followers are doing well and enjoying the autumn weather where they are.
We bought a fresh tuna last week and brought it back to our campsite and canned it in half pint jars. We got 25 jars of fresh canned albacore. Yummy! I haven't tried it yet but our friend also bought one and canned his and we tasted it and it's the best tuna I've ever eaten. Sure beats Chicken of the Sea. LOL Several people who are camped here by us brought fresh produce from their gardens and shared them. I roasted some tomatoes the other day from a recipe I got from Cathy at Wives with Knives blog. They are delish. Also we got loads of bell peppers, zucchini, pears and corn. We've been eating so well here. Fresh corn on the cob and sliced tomatoes every night. Oh so good. Well, time to take Chloe for a walk now.

I've never had fresh salmon or tuna. It does sound wonderful though. Hope your hubby is feeling better and catches some too. All the fresh food sounds delicious. Most of our farmers markets are done for the year around here except for pumpkins, squash, and apples. I'll be praying that your surgery goes well. We just never know what is in store for us next.
Good luck to hubby on the fishing, hope he outdoes them all...ha. All that fresh food sounds yummy. Prayers for your upcoming surgery. Have a great weekend and week, Sheila
Maybe you'll be Bob's good luck Salmon charm if you go with him!! Good luck with your surgery. I had fresh tuna once and it was absolutely amazing.
I bet the Salmon is wonderful. Hope the doggie is ok and that you all catch some fish! Sounds like a good time! Good luck on the surgery and I'll say a prayer for you right now!
