It's Finally Friday......

It's been a busy week for my hubby and me. We have friends visiting us and they will be here for the next six weeks. After that we will be camping with them for a couple of weeks. The are from southern California and come up this way every summer. This time they are looking for a home to buy here though. It becomes a bit trying after a while since we usually plan our dinners together. Breakfast and lunch we are on our own but dinner we have together. It is fun but it's a bit much having someone here all that time. They are really great people and are doing all they can to not be overbearing. They will be in Oregon until October. They go fishing for salmon at the coast in September. He is a master fisherman. If nobody is catching fish, he is. If everybody is catching fish, he is catching the most. I don't know how he does it but he knows all there is to know about fishing.

Our pets seem to be doing better. Chloe is feeling better and isn't limping anymore and Molly is taking her medicine for the thyroid problem and does seem to be drinking water less and even may be gaining a little weight. I am so glad.

I haven't lost any weight in the last several weeks and it's been frustrating me. I am having a bit of a problem and I think I will be calling my doctor to let them know. My acid reflux has worsened. I get up every night and move to the recliner so that I can sleep. I wake myself up in bed coughing. It seems that liquids come up while I am asleep and I feel like I am aspirating. Sometimes I wake up with a mouthful of liquid. The Prilosec keeps it from having an acid taste but it is still coming up. So I know that isn't right. I am wondering also if I have enough restriction. I am able to eat much more than I could before. I usually don't but I don't want to feel hungry. The thing with the Lapband is it is adjustable and needs to be tweaked to find the right fill for me.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I am hoping to finally make it to our Saturday Market tomorrow and the guys are going fishing so the wives will be no doubt shopping tomorrow.

A good day for fishing.........

Here is the catch of the day. Rainbow Trout. Last week we went fishing and I caught the only fish. We have some friends visiting us from So Cal and the husbands went back to the lake yesterday and hubby caught these 2 beauties. He tries and tries to fish and is always willing to take his friends fishing in his boat. The problem is he is always skunked. Everyone but him catch fish. I don't know what it is but he was so tickled to have caught 2 of them yesterday I had to get this picture of his happy grin. Tonight we'll be having a fish fry.

I haven't been on here much lately between Farm Town and our visitors I 've been pretty busy. Not only that but now hubby got on Farm Town and he is trying to reach my level and surpass me so he is spending lots of time on it. Libby you were right! We all are going to need 12 step programs soon. The weather here went from beautiful sunny and low 80s to a crazy thunderstorm like we never see here in Oregon the other night. It looked like a tornado went through our yard. Debris from the trees is everywhere. Since that night (Tuesday) it's been muggy and warm and overcast. We had more rain last night but it was our typical showery rain. Bring back our sunshine!!

The guys are going fishing again on Saturday and us girls will be going to the local farmer's market here in town. I have every intention of going to the farmer's market every Saturday and for some reason I block from my memory until just before they close and so I miss it each week. This week I will have help remembering it.

A Photo Tag..

Follow this down

I was tagged by Karen at Nittany Inspiriations

Ok here it is. The sixth picture in the sixth folder in My Pictures. This one was taken on New Years Day this year at a Rose Bowl Party we attended. The tall good looking guy is my man Bob and the cute gal is Doris who happens to be the wife of our pastor. They were clowning around in the kitchen of the friends holding the party. I had hoped to find one of Chloe in that folder but she wasn't there. So I decided to put one on of her that I took last week anyway. Here is what she said on my blog:You have been tagged. If you would care to play, open the sixth folder of my photos and choose the sixth photo, post it on my blog and tell something about it. Then select 6 other bloggers to tag. Here are the one's I have chosen.

A day of fishing........

Okay so today hubby and I went fishing. I caught this 20 inch rainbow trout. I was so excited. When we got home I seasoned it (after it was cleaned of course)and put some slices of lemon inside it and butter and wrapped it in foil. I baked it and then I made fish tacos with it. Hubby ate pork carnitas. He doesn't eat fish. Maybe that is why he never catches any fish. His friends have started to call him fishless Bob. Poor guy, he goes fishing all the time and very seldom does he catch any. So when I go with him and catch one this big right off the bat, well his ego is suffering big time. He still keeps trying though. Ever since he caught his first and only salmon about 5 years ago he was (pardon the pun) hooked. It was a fun and relaxing day anyway. But it did keep me away from Farm Town and Facebook which is taking up an enormous amount of my time lately. I have neglected my blog and I've even started to fall behind in reading your blogs. I need to get into that 12 step program Libby was talking about. Well, it's getting late and I am ready to turn in.

Just another day...........

I haven't been on here very much in the last week. I am administering medicine to the cat now and I've also been trying to work in the garden and helping hubby with stuff. I helped him scrub our front deck yesterday. I've also been weeding the garden and fertilizing the plants. He is putting in a large mound out in the front yard and we plan to transplant a couple of our Japanese Maple trees from whiskey barrels to the ground. They have gotten too big for the barrels and are getting root bound. We want to get them into the ground before they begin to suffer. Chloe seems to be doing much better now and Molly is beginning to respond from the antibiotics and thyroid meds. I hope I can catch up on reading blogs in the next couple of days. Once you get behind it becomes a real challenge to catch up.

I never did get my pictures from the doctors office. Sigh! So I had hubby take my picture last weekend. He ended up making a video while trying to take a snapshot. LOL He hasn't used my camera before and he pushed the wrong button. I'll have him take my picture more often now. I wanted him to take it monthly but we always forgot to take it. I will try and group them together and post them to my Picasa account if anyone is interested in seeing them.

I hope everyone has a good Memorial Day Weekend.

Update on Molly

We took Molly to the vet yesterday. They said the symptoms sounded like either diabetes or hypothyroidism or something else that I can't remember. Anyway, they took some blood from her and couldn't get any urine (she must have gone before we left). The doctor called me in the afternoon and said she had good news for me. Her glucose was good and the only thing they found wrong was her thyroid wasn't functioning correctly. It has gone into overdrive. She used to be a really fat kitty. When she jumped onto your lap her feet just dug into your thighs and it hurt. Well, she only weighs 5 pounds now. Her metabolism is so speeded up she is hungry all the time and thirsty and she can't keep any weight on. Hubby said he'd like the same problem. LOL So now they are giving her an antibiotic and a gel from the compounding pharmacy that you run on the inside of her ears. On the left ear in the morning and the right in the evening. So I am hoping she gets back to her normal self quickly. I noticed Chloe was favoring her leg again this morning. I am going to give her a little bit of the anti-inflammatory medicine and see if that helps. I should have asked the vet if glucosamine would benefit her since she has arthritis.
Well, I am going to get to the gym this morning since I missed going yesterday due to taking Molly in. Then I think I will go to the Farmers Market. I miss it every Saturday. I always forget it and by the time I venture out and about it is over with. Our temperature is forecasted to be around 89 today. I think the warm weather is definitely on it's way.
