Fall is Here

Well the first of the fall rains is here. It started yesterday but then the sun came out in the afternoon. It began again last night and it is supposed to continue through tomorrow. It is a welcome sight since it's been 3 or 4 months since we've had any rain here. I have been doing well and I've lost 51 pounds so far. I have had a rough week however since I seem to be tighter than I was and am having a bit of trouble eating certain foods. I did learn that when going out to eat I need to eat something easy like salad or soup rather than something that looks really good on the menu. Since I've only told a few people about my Lapband it makes it awkward when something gets stuck and I keep needing to leave the table. I read several blogs now and some I've read for a few years. I noticed that AOL is not going to have Journals anymore so I am glad I didn't start this blog on AOL. I just need to figure out how to add photos and such. I go to the doctor on the 14th for my 6 month checkup and I am hoping to be down a few more pounds than I already am. I am getting excited about cooking dishes for the cooler weather and I got a bag of apples from a friend so I might make some applesauce and can it. I also bought a really nice butternut squash and I am going to make some soup with it. I have never made that soup and I really like the taste of butternut squash soup so maybe I'll have a recipe to reuse. I also have an elderly neighbor (82) who loves soups and makes her own all the time so I can share it with her since my husband won't be eating any. He is a vegetable hater. We have a beautiful maple tree in the front of our house that turns bright orange and red in the fall. I will try and import a picture of it for this blog.
