Taking my medicine.....

I saw my doctor on Tuesday and explained to her what I have been experiencing as far as the headache pain when I cough and the congestion in the mornings. I don' t get it but she prescribed me a nasal spray to use before bed and an allergy pill. I told her I had been suffering from this since I had a really bad cold but I don't know if she is going in the right direction. I figured, okay she is the medical professional and I am a Mom, wife and professional laundress, toilet scrubber, and cook so what do I know. I started the meds that day and so far I haven't noticed a huge difference. I kind of thought she would give me an antibiotic since I may have a low grade infection. I figure I will use the sample nasal spray before I buy the actual full size one since the allergy meds cost me 37 bucks with my insurance. I already had allergy meds at home since I got a prescription from her last year when I was suffering from allergy symptoms. Here's hoping I suddenly notice I am not coughing in the a.m. and no headache pain as well.

One Year Anniversary coming.........

Thursday is my one year anniversary of my LapBand surgery. I have lost 73 pounds so far. Since my last band adjustment I haven't lost anymore. I have an appointment in early April for my one year checkup and hope to get refilled so I can start to lose weight again. Today I have a doctors appointment with my regular MD. I usually see her as a followup with my surgeon. Since October I have been having congestion in my chest every morning after having had a terrible cold. I also get a tightness as it starts to get congested at night. If I laugh suddenly at night or talk too loudly it causes me to cough. When I start to cough I get a horrible headache. This worries me more than the congestion. Although things have improved, I still have the symptoms and it's time to get checked. The headache also comes if I bend over to tie my shoes or pick up something off the floor. It lasts usually about 10 minutes or so. When it started it was really awful so it has improved. I am thinking it is my sinuses and that I have a lingering sinus infection and that may even be causing the congestion in my chest. We'll see if I am right. The little picture on my blog is the picture that was chosen by my band buddies who also were banded the same month as me. Spring is here but our weather here is very unpredictable. Lots of rain and sun and a big storm is predicted for tomorrow. Crazy-don't these weather guys know it's spring??
