Getting Packed

Here is Chloe watching out the windshield of the motor home. This was on a different trip than this one. I was just going through some pictures and saw this and thought I'd post it. I loaded lots of food and other things into the motor home today. It was sure cold in there. Brrr! Tomorrow I will put all the refrigerator items in and my clothes. My hubby is in the process of putting his clothes in now. We are taking our cats too. It's always an interesting challenge when we first take off. Molly always gets sick, and Sissy always hides under a chair. The first couple of hundred miles are hard for them and then they adapt and actually like it. They love to look out the windows. Sometimes they walk on the dashboard as we're driving down the highway. But I know they are much happier with us than being left at home.

The weather has turned a bit and we are getting rain. I only hope it doesn't get too cold and snow in the pass between Oregon and California. If it does we may have to take the coastal route which is much longer but safer.

I wanted to post about the acid reflux I mentioned in a post a couple of weeks ago. It was getting worse so I bought some Prilosec or actually the generic for it which is omeprazole. The first night I took it and it didn't really work but the second day I took it in the morning like they recommend and I had my first night without a problem in weeks. Hooray!! They only want you to take it for 14 days. I don't know if I will continue it after that. I don't want to develop any illness from it. My hubby takes Protonix and says it works really well for him. Maybe I will try that when my Omeprazole is used up. What a drag to have to deal with this. But at least it works and keeps me from having acid reflux while I sleep.

Ah, warm sun in my future

I can't wait to close my eyes and bask in the sunshine in California. Hopefully the rain they are getting today won't last. Our freeze is ending today but now rain is predicted here which means we'll have to deal with possible snow in the pass. If it snows in the pass we might need to take the coastal route south. It looks like our group is planning all kinds of places to visit in the San Luis Obispo area of Central California. My sister-in-law called last night and wanted to know where we were and how soon we would be to her house. My hubby told her we weren't leaving until next week but I guess she is so excited to hear we are coming that she imagined we were all ready on our way. LOL.. The Academy Award nominees were just announced. I haven't seen any of the nominated movies. Guess I need to do some movie watching in the next month also. Isn't this little dog picture cute? I snagged it off a website I was on cause I thought it was cute.

Inauguration Day

Today is a day in history, that will be remembered forever. I feel such pride and excitement while waiting for the ceremony to begin. I don't think it matters what party you represent or who you voted for today. It is the day our new president is being inaugurated and we all can enjoy the celebration and be caught up in the wave of exhilaration that is filling the air. The hopes and dreams of Americans are resting on his shoulders and many are expecting him to be a miracle worker. I pray he can do all that he plans to do, but even if he doesn't achieve all his goals, I hope the momentum of this day carries on and gives our country a new feeling of hope. May God Bless our new President and May God Bless America.

Hugs for Monday Blues

Boy I think we all could use a hug today. It seems like the weather is terrible everywhere except Southern California. It's been very cold and foggy here for the last week. No rain just damp and freezing cold. Good weather for soup or chili or stew. I am looking forward to our trip. Only I have to go out to the motor home to get it ready and it's so cold out there. Maybe I will turn the heater on in there and wait until it's warm and then take care of inventory and stocking it. We have 3 couples going now and we all have places we want to see and things we want to do. So we may split up at times and do our own thing. I can't wait to see the sun again. It's funny because the surrounding areas here in Oregon do have sun. I guess I could drive to the coast for the sun or up to a higher elevation. But in due time I will feel warm sunshine on my face. The last two nights I had not much sleep. Chloe woke me and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Does anyone else go through that? My husband can go right back to sleep after getting up. Not me, I end up thinking about things I want or need to do and can't turn my mind off. So I may need a nap today. I just glanced over at my husband and he is snoozing right now. Darn!! NOT FAIR!! I would like to throw his chair out the door sometimes. He spends entirely too many hours occupying it. Well, I am off to start taking inventory of the motor home.
