I had my scope test yesterday and while they had me they decided a colonoscopy would be in order also. I was long overdue for that so I didn't balk when they said they wanted to do that too. I hadn't had one before and was told the prep was the worst part of the procedure. That turned out to be the truth. They did the gastro part first and then the colon part. I was laying there and the doctor and nurses were there and getting ready and I heard them talking and realized they were doing the colonoscopy. I thought "oh no!" when one of the nurses realized I was awake and said "you're almost done". It felt like no time had passed at all and I had been sedated and didn't realize it. I wasn't groggy or anything. I was amazed at how alert I felt and how I had missed the whole thing in just about 30 minutes or so. Anyhow, the tests both turned out good. No ulcers or problems in my esophagus or stomach, so why did I have acid reflux? I have to see my doctor in three weeks to discuss the next course of action. Three weeks??? Man, this is taking so long. One thing I have discovered is that my reflux seems to be gone now. How can that be? Gone as fast as it came and I don't know what caused it to begin with. I didn't take my Prilosec for two days and didn't have any reflux. Maybe whatever caused it has healed. I guess the doctor may have an answer for my questions. I am just anxious to get my band refilled and start losing weight again. But I am thankful that both tests had positive results.
