This picture is of Chloe and Sissy our cat. Sissy was laying in Chloe's bed and Chloe laid just on the edge so as not to scare Sissy away. It was a rare occurrence that the two of them were so close. Chloe usually likes to chase Sissy for fun, and Sissy is so skittish I was surprised to find them together long enough for me to run and get the camera.
Well, today I am thinking about resolutions. For the first time in a lot of years I am not putting weight loss in the number one slot of my resolutions. I instead am going to put "going the extra mile". I mean that in more than one way. When I am exercising, I need to push myself just a little harder. When I think I can't do more, make myself do just a little bit more.
And this can carry over into my every day life. I can "go the extra mile" in everything I do from organizing a closet in my house to helping on a task at my church or working with a friend on a project of any other kind. Putting in a bit more effort will make a huge difference in my performance and results. Rather than make a list of things I resolve to do, this year I will focus on that one task. It can be a huge step in changing how I relate to others and reach other goals in my life.
The wind has been blowing hard here, something that rarely happens. I was awakened by it and now it's almost 3:30. I am getting sleepy again so I think I will head back to bed. Hopefully there won't be too much debris in the driveway from the oak tree out front.

I love that resolution Kathy! I will share that one with you. What a great idea. Hope everything worked out with the wind. We had terrible wind here New Year's Eve.

How cute your little fur babies are. I like your resolution too. Going the extra step can cause some huge results. Just when I think I can't go any further is when I find that one more step is possible. Hope your Friday is a great one!
I think your animals look so cute together. It is great that you got a picture of them. I love your resolutions. Go the extra mile. I may have to use that. LOL It has been very windy here the last few days. I think with the wind chill it is about 10 degrees if not colder. Have a wonderful Friday. Hugs
Happy New Year Kathy!
Thank God for my positive talking blog friends this morning! I was in dire need of a good dose of happyspeak! You truly have a wonderful attitude and a dear heart! I so appreciate that!
Yes, it's nice to not have "LOSE WEIGHT" at the top our resolution list. Even though we are still working towards our weight loss goals, it has not become the cornerstone of every piece of our lives and gives us the freedom to concentrate on other goals. Your post today reminded me of this...i had lost sight of it!
This year, I think I am going to try to carry out my random acts of kindness for people in my life with the hope that I can reconnect with people who I have lost touch with over time....
Thanks for being such a warm ray of sunshine!

What a cute picture! You can tell Sissy can't believe that Chloe has the audacity to try and lay by her.
What a great entry. That is the best resolution I've seen yet. You go girl.
Hugs, Joyce
Great resolution! I wish you the best in 2009! Cute pics of Chloe and Sissy :)
Love your notion of "going the extra mile"! :) And what a great picture...my dog and cat are rarely close enough to one another to capture them in a photo as well. :)
