I am still around, I just haven't been posting. We have been at a lake, camping for the whole month of July. Hubby goes out fishing in the morning and again in the late afternoon. I am ready to leave. I am soooo bored. The mosquitoes were really aggressive when we first got here. They have decreased in the last week. We've had several friends here for a week at a time so it's not too bad. Last week we had rain most of the week and dreary weather. Now it's so pretty again. I have read two books and I know it sounds like a nice relaxing vacation but I feel like all I do is wash dishes and vacuum the motorhome and pick up and put away things. Not to mention cooking all the time. The last few days were better because we made group meals with two other couples so I didn't have to cook the whole thing. Tonight we are making smoked baby back ribs and baked potatoes. One of the couples will be bringing corn on the cob. I took a picture of the lake with the moon over it the other night. Our wifi is so overworked here that I can't upload it until I get home. Next Thursday we are leaving for Sweet Home, Oregon for the Oregon Jamboree . We've gone for the last five years and it's so much fun. We have met lots of new friends waiting in line to get in each day. I have been reading all the posts I follow and even commenting on them when the computer doesn't make me wait too long. I hope everyone is having a good summer and I hope the areas suffering from the heat get relief soon.

Your vacation sounds heavenly to me, though I suppose if you feel like you're doing nothing but cooking and picking up that could get tedious fast! Enjoy the event!
I have been almost doing the same thing. In a motor home since the 1st of July. Hubby fishes and I cook, wash dishes and read. I got myself a Kindle and I just love it. I am reading free classics that I have wanted to read for a long time. My knitting is sitting here..unattended. Luckily we have free wi-fi right now. Next month we move to the cabin in Montana and have to use broad-band so am writing lots of blogs to be posted in the future. Have fun. good to hear from you again.
It sounds like a great life to me. I've been missing my camper this summer. Between a family vacation and not having any transportation, I've been pretty much at home. I've read a lot too. Enjoy your friends and food and the trip too.
Well, I hear you about reading a lot! When we go on vacation, that is when I get most of my reading done!! LOL But I don't cook!
We will be going to Hawaii in early December for 2 wks and I hope to get in a LOT of reading!!
My idea of the perfect vacation, is sitting/reclining in a comfortable chair (or whatever is available so long as it is comfortable), in the shade, by the ocean, listening to the waves, and reading!! LOL
So since we are going by ourselves this trip (and we have been so many times), we don't have to do any of the touristy things, and can really relax....
Sounds like a fun vacation and glad you don't have to cook 100% of the time! The mosquitos have been really bad here this year (we live in Colorado) and usually they are not bad at all, but something about the amount of moisture we have been getting has brought all the nasty things out and they are MEAN! LOL! Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
I know just what you mean about feeling like you're always cooking while on vacation. It seems like you just get cleaned up after breakfast and you already have to start thinking about what to make for lunch.
I was going to suggest that you get a Kindle also. They're great! I completely understand the cooking and dishes. I think I cooked more this week being on vacation than all month!
